Our most important asset, our members
St. Paul's welcomes your participation in any of our Church Programs.
Parishioners play an active role in worship.
Opportunities for Ministry booklet : how you can participate at St. Paul's, and information / contact numbers for each of our programs. (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader). Following are some of the more popular ways of participating:
- The Vestry is our governing body.
- Acolytes, Lay Readers, Choir, the Ushers and Greeters, and Lay Eucharistic Ministers assist with the services.
- The Altar Guild is responsible for decorating the church and altar for Sunday services. (contact Susan Trost at 510-547-2700.)
Children and youth are a very special part of St. Paul's
We welcome children of all ages. For toddlers, a nursery room is available near the back of the church. Children and youth are invited to become Acolytes and serve in worship at the 10am service. Currently we are not offering Sunday school, but hope to arrange for it soon.
The parish has a number of community activites.
* Adult education is held seasonally on Sunday mornings either at 9 or 11:30 to tackle tough questions of faith and life.
* The Parish Picnic every fall brings the community together for fun and fellowship.

* A Mardi Gras celebration enlivens the anticipation of Lent.
* During Lent there is a special education series focusing on the Christian faith.
* The Spring Rummage Sale raise money for the parish's operating expenses.
* Volunteers work in the Church office to help things run smoothly
In keeping with the Anglican definition of the parish as the neighborhood, as opposed to the membership, of the church, St. Paul's also sponsors a variety of programs outside the Church building proper.
* Senior Resources, a community outreach to the elderly
* A weekly Food Co-op
