An Oasis Congregation

    Community Service

Do you have a spare minute to help some one?

Outreach to the immediate neighborhood and to Oakland as a whole is extremely important at St. Paul's. These are the services that we support:

The Food Co-Op provides fresh produce at wholesale prices to the neighborhood. It is open to all on Thursday at 10 am. Due to construction, this program is closed until mid-September. We encourage people to bring canned food for the hungry on Sundays.

    Click for Photo Gallery.

Senior Resources offers counseling and assistance to the elderly and their caregivers. In addition, Senior Resources offers Senior Center Without Walls, a new program that offers activities and contact for homebound seniors in short weekly series such as "the bingo series," and "telling your favorite jokes series", and other short term activities offered through conference call networks. Call Terri Englehart at 510-444-0243 for more information.

St. Paul's hosts many twelve-step recovery program meetings. St. Paul's members visit and provide worship every Sunday at the nearby Lakeside, a residential home for alzheimer's patients. St. Paul's choristers visit and sing in the nursing unit at St. Paul's Towers every second Sunday of the month.

St. Paul's is an active member of the Oakland Coalition of Congregations.

St. Paul's Episcopal School, founded in 1966, is an independent, Episcopal "private school with a public purpose" dedicated to providing the finest morally sound and socially conscious education to Oakland's diverse population. For more information call the Head of School, Karan Merry, at (510) 287-9600.

Clausen House is an Episcopal-sponsored, residential treatment center for developmentally disabled adults. For more information, call (510) 839-0050.

St. Paul's Towers is an Episcopal Homes Foundation retirement community. For more information, call (510) 835-4700
