Summer Adult Forum Schedule

September 7th—Anne Jensen and / or our clergy will lead a study of Matthew 5-7 and the Sermon on the Mount.  Meet in the Chapter Room @ 9 a.m. 

Women’s Spirituality Group
Wednesday, Sep. 3rd
 

The Women’s Spirituality Group will be meeting this Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapter Room. The group will be discussing chapters 11 and 12 of Sara Miles’ new book, Take this Bread.  The book is her story of coming to faith and developing a feeding program at St. Gregory of Nyssa in San Francisco. Newcomers are welcome. The group meets at 6:00 p.m. for a pot luck supper and then discusses the reading; there is also has a time of prayerful meditation.

Morning Prayer
Tuesdays, 7:20 a.m.

On Tuesday mornings at 7:20, we are reading Morning Prayers together in the Church. This is a wonderful way to begin the day. All are welcome.

Coming Events and Special Announcements

Tell Us Your Favorite Hymns

Summer is a great time to sing your favorite hymns. Please take a note card (found on the table in the narthex) and write down the numbers of your favorite all-purpose hymns. We will try to use as many as possible. If you wish you may take a second card and write down your favorite seasonal hymns.

Training and Education Opportunities

Training for Lectors, Chalice-bearers, Acolytes, & Subdeacons

People who would like to be trained to be lectors, chalice bearers, acolytes, and subdeacons are invited to speak with Anne Jensen. Also, people who were formerly one of these ministers and who would like to reactivate should also let her know of their wishes: rector (at) stpaulsoakland (.) org / 510-834-4314.

Education for Ministries

If you are interested in taking a spiritual journey using theological reflection and Biblical study, Education for Ministries may be for you! EfM is an educational program that encourages its participants to explore their beliefs and to develop their ministries in the body of Christ. Green Sheet Announcements

Please send any Green Sheet announcements to greensheet at stpaulsoakland (.) org and include “green sheet” in the message line, or call the church office at 834-4314. Announcements should be under 100 words and should be submitted by Monday at 5 p.m. for the following Sunday.

If you have placed someone on the prayer list please let the Church Office know something about the person’s present situation. Include his / her name and your name in the message to the parish office. Send email to [administrator at stpaulsoakland (.) org], or call 834-4314).
