An Oasis Congregation

Letter from Sr. Warden - Oct. 25, 2007

Announcement of formation of a task force to form the Search Committee.

Dear Friends,

I am happy to report that we are finally ready to begin the process of putting together a Rector Search Committee!

The vestry has formed a task-force to work on forming the Search Committee. We're calling it the "Search Committee Development Group". We met this week to begin to figure out the process for forming a search committee. In the next few weeks we will be working on a job description and developing an application form.

It will be several weeks before we are ready to actually start taking applications. Once the Development Group has collected all the applications, it will be their responsibility to present the Search Committee candidates to the vestry. The vestry will then elect the committee. At this point our goal is to have a search committee in place by the January 2008 vestry meeting.

I hope each of you will consider applying to serve on the committee. It is important that we end up with a committee that reflects a real cross-section of our congregation so that each group is represented. When we have the search committee job description completed you will be able to determine if this is the right calling for you.

With love,
Phil
